Yesterday afternoon our CSIG forecasters were monitoring an area of convection along the Atlantic Coast, extending from NC through GA. The 1755 UTC experimental 2-hour CSIG outlook included most of the coast but omitted the southern part of South Carolina (Figure 1).

Shortly thereafter the GOES-R CI showed a trend of higher probabilities in western GA (noted in the oranges and yellows). Because of this trend the CSIG forecasters chose to amend the 1855 UTC experimental 2-hour forecast to include all of South Carolina (Figure 2).
