Coastal fog, not uncommon in northern New England, was seen this morning and caused some traffic constrains to Boston Center. The CIRA Fog band difference showed the area of fog edging away from the coast at 1200 UTC. Additionally, the CIMSS low cloud/fog product showed IFR probabilities surrounding Boston Center (darker oranges), which seemed to correspond relatively well to the observed LIFR and IFR conditions (the pink and red dots). Both products showed the fog lifting by late morning.
