The "Phantom MCS" Over OK this Morning...

The WRF simulated imagery this morning indicated a broad MCS would develop over eastern OK and KS by 1300 UTC and intensify as it moved east. However, the real IR imagery for the same time periods showed the area of convection in TX, but other than a few high clouds, there has been nothing of note in OK or KS. The radar imagery has also remained clear in this area today. What caused this large "phantom MCS" in the model this morning is still unclear.
