Check out the images below for a fun turbulence forecast. The WRF simulated WV forecast for 06Z tomorrow (top) is showing a shear zone extending from the TX panhandle northeast into KS and MO. The notches and bumpiness at the crest of the ridge over eastern OK and western AR are also indicative of some potential turbulence activity.
The 06Z Global GTG composite (bottom) forecast, one of the model products used for turbulence guidance in our experiment, is looking particularly sad in this same location... or maybe slightly airsick from the forecasted bumpy skies ;-)
